This morning was great. We woke up as man and wife in the hotel I had spent the previous day getting ready in and then went down for breakfast and met friends sharing breakfast together (with some amazing cabaret) before we all headed off in different directions.
We went back to the venue, which was slightly surreal after having spent our wedding day and planning meetings there and then collecting our supplies in cardboard boxes. It truly hit home the wedding day was well and truly over.
We went to visit my parents and distribute wedding cake. Following that, we went to my in-laws to collect our cards and gifts from the night before. We then spent the next hour or so opening them all and reading the messages and well wishes from our shared friends and families. Realising how truly blessed we are to have all of them in our lives in some shape or form and the different attributes that they all bring – role models, parents, children, friends, like-minded equals, teachers, family ties … and how it made one of the best days ever blur into one positive memory.
