Having had our wedding on the 8th of August, we really found it hard to expect my husband’s family to travel such a distance en masse. We found the solution to be a second wedding party in Cornwall. Click here to check how far we’ve got in Alphabet Dating!
Cornish Wedding, Callington Town Hall, Callington
Having the second wedding was a great idea. We were able to spend more time speaking to people, share photos from the day, we took the decorations and made the town hall look like we did on the day. It meant I could wear my dress again and had a bit of a pamper with my Mother-in-Law having my hair and nails done.
It was fab! The town hall is decorated with amazing murals from the solar eclipse in 1999 and was a bright and vibrant backdrop for the wedding celebration. We had a fab mini bar and amazing buffet from the Bulls’ Head, which was over the road.
The sad thing was the town hall closes at 11pm, some of us weren’t ready for bed so we were invited by the landlady of the Bull’s Head and we had a drink with the locals that were still in the bar. It was quite surreal sitting in a pub in a small village in Cornwall in a full on bridal gown and hair do but it was a fab night and definitely was for us.
